Air Engine 7 Explained

Air Engine 7 Explained

As requested, here is explanation of how it works. And again the goal is to get the power, and speed needed to power a generator, to power the compressor, and valve, … and have some left to power the house also. That is why I used a 1.5 inch cylinder instead of modifying the cam. Less cylinder space, means less air to get the job done. I am still having problems keeping up with the flow rate. Its doing better, but currently modifying the compressor. I am a Maintenance / Machinist, with a degree in Electronics. I am 46 years old, from Evansville Indiana. My website is cheappowerideas.com wanna know how i feel? http

Halo 5 Was entered in Duke of Edinburgh Challenge Trophy at The Model Engineering Exhibition 2009 Sandown Made by me using a set of drawings from Liney Machines. Now a winner of a Gold Medeal at “The 2008 Model Engineering Exhibition” The drawing set and fixing pack are to a high standard. All the parts are made from stock bar. I have enjoyed making this air operated engine. I chose this version of a radial engine, as all the work that I have put in is visible from the outside. The only addition that I have made to the drawing set is the air manifold I wanted the radial crank to be easily seen.

@crazyfvck a snapper was my first “car” :P
mowed much lawn with that rider mower as old as me.

yes it is used to much air for what i wanted put it back together this spring and cut the grass with it.

Is that a Snapper riding mower? I have one of those : )

Its 5000000000 times eaiser to just modify the cam on a briggs engine to make it run on air than to do what you did. I can get alot of torque, and about 2500 rpm on 120 Psi.

it is visit my web page. when spring gets here im gonna see if i ca run an engine on pure water. i will use gas or starter fluid to start it. i need a 15 horse engine to keep this going.

    looks complicating

You have a great lost when moving a piston with air.
Untill now, my crankless ratchet engine makes up the loss with tru output.

Stored air pressure has 3kw of power in a scuba tank.

i only have a carport and its winter and christmas. lack of heat and funds. where i am at is i bought the generator but its a 10,000 watt from harbor freight. and it wont fit on the rider. when i get the funds i will buy a 15 horse side shaft. and if i have to i will get a diesal and run it on grease. or i will run a motor on water. need funds and heat. but i will get it done. thank you for asking.
just got my computer back online a couple days ago hard drive died.. merry christmas

Have you been working on this?

Got the air Compressor on the verge of keeping up. waiting on parts.

This guy is a knob.I sent him a message asking him for information that I DID NOT FIND in the comment section. He sent me a terse reply saying:”if I bothered to read the question and comment section all my questions would be awnsered”.
Get a grip you wanker! If I had found what I was looking for I wouldn’t have bothered to e-mail you.
Too bad you’re a legend only in your own mind.

@JaguarB ok thanks for the answer. Well it definitely is a piece of art and clearly has taken alot of engineering to put it all together :)

I should think that if I directed the exhaust towards the fan it would double the speed :-) But it was build because I was trying to blur the line between engineering and art not to be a usable engine

This machine looks extremely well made and congrats on receiving gold medal! One thing that I can’t help wondering about is the potentially high level of friction inside the psitons. How great an issue is that, and how well does the machine compare to simply blowing air onto a fan in terms of efficiency? Thank you!

    Cool

Bearing in mind that It won a Gold medal at the 100th Model Engineering Exhibition and you can see it works rather well and it took about 200 hours over a year to make I am not to keen to part with it. But if you were to make an offer with enough zeros before the decimal point I may be persuaded to sell it using the reasoning that the cash would buy some extra equipment to help make my next model

    Will u sell

  20. EZtrollin /

you made this? may i say, bloody brilliant.

  21. Abdallah2319 /

Fantastic work! Hats off to you!

Are the plans available somewhere? How long did it take you to build?

Does it use lubricated or regular air? :)

muy bueno el detalle espectacular, gracias

Beautiful looking model, such clean machine work. That fact that it actually works is even cooler.

    @JaguarB its funs lol

  25. Ikeepitreelz /

Very nice…how much to reproduce once or buy one? also, how long would it last if you ran it with the open crankcase, ain’t you suppose to have oil in there to make it run smoother and longer.

    that is f**king cool
