Bike Boat human powered vehicle

www.thebikeboat.com —- Continued trials of the bikeboat prototype. including demonstration of a seawall/dock launch, a ramp launch, and rowing either forward or backward, this is the ultimate in human powered amphibious vehicles

With the rising cost of fuel – due to its increasing scarcity – and the impact of pollution from fossil fuelled vehicles on our community and environment, new forms of transport offer a sustainable future. My concept is to design a human powered vehicle (HPV) that can function as both a community car and as a tradesman’s ute, thereby becoming highly active in the community for both transportation of people and cargo.

riding it is as unefficient as swimming. More of that, having pedals to use oars is very strange… Why not to apply some more advanced propulsor from pedals?

  5. @TurcotPlayer As for the drive system i was looking at an internal hub for each rider (making it easier for children to contribute) and a differential in each of the axels. The front two seating positions drive the front wheels and the rear seating positions drive the back wheels. hope this answers your question. thanks for the comment!

  6. @TurcotPlayer as this was only my second year uni project the speed would only be an assumption. obviously the more people powering the faster it would go. i would think equal to or faster then the average cyclist as this was designed as a car replacement and to travel on the road when cars become obsolete.

How fast could this go? What would its drive system look like?
