Going Green – No Sweat! We’ve had many experiences in Sweat Lodges and when I lived in Alaska I had the pleasure of using a Banya. For both Health and Spiritual these spaces are great and can be inexpensive to build and operate. From Simple Lodges such as Traditional Sweat Lodges and Banya’s to more elaborate Sauna designs the Banya or Sweat Lodge is a great way to relax, and improve your Health, and Spiritual well being. We sometimes use our Banya as a wake up space and enjoy the warmth. In the summers our Banya is one of the cooler places on our property. Our dogs love it and often hang out inside on hot days. The Stained Glass door on the front was made by Susan’s Father and Susan made the Kokopelli (Recycled Steel Cut out with Glass) Other glass recycled from glass projects and bottles from friends. The Banya I must admit is an easier way of getting to the point of sweating. Traditional Sweats can involve an elaborate ceremony taking some time to heat and move the rocks and as I discovered the banya’s in Alaska the Fire Tender would freeze. A Banya takes only a short time to heat up and is able to heat the space longer and hotter. The health benefits are obvious. I guess that’s why we built one. Other benefits. It’s outside and coming out of the Banya into the cool night air is always pleasing. Can’t wait for the snow! We used Cotton Wood Logs as they are the logs most available. Placed in sand 2′ deep and mudded in place. At first we were going to use many logs to …

Polystyrene… GREEN?!
Merry Christmas Dude.
Free Energy is real and its here but the coverup is strong, if you are interested in a REAL free energy machine then
just go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and download the blueprints ,it is probably the ONLY working magnet
motor out there. Join the free energy revolution!!
green doesn’t just mean the color
If you can substitute high density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) rigid insulation for the Dow Styrofoam, you could call your building system “green” in so far as the materials used. Your building panels would be suitable for northern climates only if you have a very good thermal break to prevent the metal framing from wicking cold through the wall.
research/advocate industrial hemp alongside medicinal cannabis for health liberty and economy! and ecology! research the commodities we are not taking advantage of economically
R values are not the end all rating of performance of Insulation.
Styrafoam is not a SUSTAINABLE “GREEN” BUILDING MATERIAL, its made from petroleum, a non-sustainable and heavily polluting resource. Whats more it seeps toxic fumes over time.
ENERGY EFFICIENT (30-40% ENERGY BILL SAVINGS) R20 is the same rating as 6″ of Glass fibre, thats hardly ground breaking energy efficiency, you should be looking to build with a rating of R35.
Interesting…is this product available in Spain
@misty8bones Wow Did I mss your Comment… So very Sorry. The White Stuff on the outside is Cement colored White. LAnguage… Thank you. We need to STOP creating BAD Language. Be well and take care of yourselves… L.
Like your film and sauna. Also you video on language. I am 2 hours North of Berlin and want to build a sauna like yours here maybe by the lake. What was the white cement looking stuff you used to waterproof it. I tried to send you a similar note but it was from the wrong address.
Nicely put together film and swaet lodge. What is the white cement looking stuff you used to water proof?. I am in Germany and want to build something similar. You might like the – flying concrete site.
Thanks!
Very cool…. sorry it took me so long ENJOY the HEAT!!
Oh hi i wrote 1 year ago under name urssulas but now i use name Voodoozeko. I have learnt much since then i have build a sauna and now i know difference between sauna and banya.
Sorry for not seeing your post. Write me….
send them a messege. theyll chech that
Wow! Sorry I missed your comment. Been a busy winter. No on Frensel Lense. I lived in Alaska in the bush for three years and our Banya also used wood. It was much bigger 15′x15′. The one we build here is about 8′ round and 4′high. The insides are carved into the soil to make it a bit deeper inside and room for your legs. Best of luck in all you do.. Keep safe
you got it…. Hot!
Is what you do, first off, go out and find some rocks. Try and find old volcanic rocks or something, only because they can retain heat without cracking alot easier. Then you put about 32 rocks in a sacred fire. After the rocks become red hot, you put them, in a hole dug out inside the sweat lodge. you take water in with you and pour on the rocks, causing steam and plenty of heat.
Hey. In case you check comments occasionally, and don’t mind a general question, I’m curious what are some of the fastest & cleanest heating methods?
Don’t know much about saunas/sweats, but it seems like fire heating (aside from the value of tradition) is inconvenient for casual use b/c it is slow & labor intensive. The typical electric heaters probably gulp tons of electricity.
Just curious what an efficient/clean/quick off-grid system might be. (Ever heard of people using a Fresnel Lens?)
Plz anyone can you give me banya building plan????
pleas someone can you give me banya building plan????
plz someone tell whats the difference betwen sauna and banya??????
No word from Sam? If you leave a comment on my vid’s you should expect a dialog. That is what I was taught. When someone speaks. Listen. Hear their words. and think. I think Sam should not go around SPAMING people when he does not know them or what they believe or know. Each of us has our own way and we should respect that as our foundation. My shelter, sauna, lodge, sweat lodge, banya is my personal place and very SACRED to me and my family. See you all at the river!Think. Be well. Lati
Next time… Thanks for checking in. Always welcome
