The fact is you can build a wind turbine with a low torque, high speed generator, or a high torque, low speed generator, both are commercially viable with the latter gaining on the former.

I prefer solar energy. The energy gathered naturally and concentrated for thousands of years – it is called “oil.”
There isn’t that much energy in wind and what there is is not all captured. How much energy does it take to MAKE one of these turbines? What is the break even point? What is the lifespan and maintenance? 9,000 homes when the wind blows? LOL! Not impressed.

I didn’t vote for him and I won’t vote for him in 2012 either but your ignorance needs to be called out. Wind can create more jobs per dollar than any other type of energy. Energy efficiency, I.E. making better windows, insulation, cars, etc. is both profitable and creates many jobs.

my x boy friend built wind turbines..they are huge..hazardous..but it is really beautiful to see them all working..
I think force is =N*9,8 and that is =Kg. (in Spanish: force= masa * aceleración)
F=0.9N*9.8 –> F=8.82Kg.
W=8.82Kg*2,5m=22.05Joules
P=22.05J/9sec –>P=2.45Wats
