The way you Americans build your houses it’s no wonder they drop so rapidly in value. They are overrated and have a very bad substance. Not made to last at all. It’s not just about the one in this vid, it’s all the other 300k houses. Do they even have a fundament?! I know houses which are about 100 years old and still very sturdy with walls almost a meter thick.
Building a NEW home of any kind is NOT a green house. How about using a house that is already BUILT!!! You just wasted MORE resources to build a new home that didn’t need to be BUILT!!!
As much as I feel bad for you, you made A LOT of mistakes. So ifn I was you, I’d pick myself up and maybe try it again in a few years. Start smaller, have all of your ducks lined up and you probably already know just how much easier this will be for you next time around ! May God bless you in your endeavors !!!
why could you not build a conventional home that had a modern design and include an energy effecient system for the house, using eco friendly insulation and building materials? looks like you failed for the planning part and rushed the execution part.
Also, Every wall with straw bales and then stuccoed arround it is very FireSafe. Better than your walls with air in them. Also, the insulation factor is huge…..so no AC needed for comfortable living..unless you require a 68 degree climate. I am sure this guy did enough homework on that to get the permits from a stupid ass building department. now he just needs a little extra dough to finish. I would sue the ass off of the broker and the realtor and the land owner. Would love to see it done
Most of these comments are from idiots who probably live in the backwoods and haven’t showered in a couple of weeks. This guy is trying to do the right thing and not walk away from his creditors and build a modern but still “green” for the bureaucrats and liberal assmonkeys……unlike most of you who probably bailed ship as soon as your lazy union ass got fired
Never build your first house as a sustainable/experimental project. Always go with an architect who knows the building department and plan checkers by name.
Now this guy probably will have a very hard time getting financing to pay off his construction loans.

Don’t run, just file a legal bankruptcy. That is exactly what it is there for!
Bankruptcy…no worries.
The Nation is bankrupt so…

LOL i guess your right the way his project is going it sounds as if he’ll soon be dealing with the IRS. Forget the stupid building inspectors.
The house is too big.
Why is it that people aren’t happy unless they have something LARGE to live in. Large means more energy, more stuff, and more time to care for.
Personally I’d much rather have a large open piece of land and a basic home with a porch, greenhouse, and solar garage for an electric vehicle.

Many homes are way overpriced, but there are several ideas for simple homes that can be comfortable and easy to maintain.
Homes need not be large or expensive.
